Summer Associate Program

The Weathington Firm has a long-standing tradition of hiring Summer Associates to work alongside our Associates and Partners in our Atlanta office.  Our Summer Associate Program has three main goals: to provide meaningful work experience, to provide educational opportunities,  and to provide social and networking experiences for the law students.

Meaningful Working Experience:

At The Weathington Firm, our Summer Associates work alongside our Associates and Partners on active cases. Some of their responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting deposition summaries, and assisting with case-specific projects. Ultimately, this work experience shows each Summer Associate what their day-to-day life will be like as a Civil and Medical Malpractice defense litigator.

Educational Opportunities:

Each of our Summer Associates is paired with a Senior Associate, who serves as their mentor.  Mentors provide guidance and training to ensure each Summer Associate’s success.  Additionally, The Weathington Firm places an emphasis on learning through observation.  Observing trials, hearings, depositions, and client meetings is not only encouraged, but it is also expected.  We believe that observation is key to learning. Finally, all Summer Associates are included in in-house educational programming, such as our Breakfast and Learn series, any CLE programming, and other educational opportunities.

Social and Networking Opportunities:

The Weathington Firm provides many opportunities for our Summer Associates to socialize and network.  We understand the importance of developing connections within the legal field and how that might affect not only our Summer Associate’s futures but our Firm’s as well.  Summer Associates are treated as one of our Team here, and they are included in all of our social and networking events, such as team-building events, summer Firm-wide party, happy hours, and more.

Weathington, LLC values our Summer Associate program, and we have been rewarded by hiring from within this program.  For consideration, please submit your resume, cover letter, transcript, and writing sample to Jesse Broocker, Hiring Partner, jbroocker@weathington.com.
